Roy Rudewick
Associate AD for Sports MedicineRoy Rudewick, a 16-year veteran at Arlington Bowie High School, enters his third year as the head athletic trainer at UT Arlington in 2008-2009.
Rudewick is the primary contact for men's basketball, but will oversee the entire department and its student-athletes.
Rudewick is a 1989 graduate of UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education. A certified and licensed athletic trainer, Rudewick received his master's of education degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1990.
Prior to Arlington Bowie, he was the head athletic trainer at Carrollton R.L. Turner High School from 1990-91.
He also served a trainer at the 1994 World Cup Soccer Tournament in Dallas. He served as an intern athletic trainer with the Houston Oilers Football Club from 1989-90.
Rudewick served as the president of the North Texas Athletic Trainer Society from 2002-04 and has been a clinical instructor of the National Athletic Trainers' Association B.O.C. He has served as a master assessor for the University Interscholastic League's (UIL) Wrestling Weight Certification Program and was the Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Coordinator. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association, Texas State Athletic Trainers' Association, North Texas Athletic Trainer Society and the Texas Society of Sports Medicine.
Gina Giammanco, MS, ATC, LAT
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Giammanco is entering her fifth year at UT Arlington, and will be covering the volleyball and softball teams. Giammanco received her BS in Physical Education from the University of Louisiana - Monroe in 2003, and she received her MS in Exercise Science in 2004. As a graduate assistant athletic trainer, Giammanco worked with women's volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving, football, softball, and baseball. Some of the other events Giammanco has covered include the Sunbelt Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, NCAA Diving Zone Championships, AAU Girls National Basketball tournament, and the Louisiana High School State Rodeo Championships.
Julie Homuth, MS, ATC, LAT
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Homuth is entering her fourth year at UT Arlington and will be covering the women's basketball team and assisting with the men's and women's tennis programs. Homuth came to UT Arlington after receiving her Master's of Science degree in Kinesiology - Athletic Training from Michigan State University. As a graduate assistant at MSU, Homuth worked with their women's soccer and softball teams. Homuth graduated from Winona State University where she earned a Bachelor's in Science degree in Athletic Training.
Jed Stratton, ATC, LAT, PES, CES
Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer
Stratton is entering his second year as a Graduate Assistant at UTA, and is the primary Athletic Trainer for the women's basketball team and assists with men's and women's tennis. He started his Athletic Training career in the Tyler Junior College sports medicine program, then received his BS in Athletic Training from University of Texas at Arlington in 2008. Before returning to his alma mater, Stratton spent one year working at Trinity Valley School in Ft. Worth as the Assistant Athletic Trainer. He is certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association's Board of Certification and licensed by the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers, as well as a certified Performance Enhancement and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Adriana is beginning her second year at UTA and will be covering the men's and women's track and field teams.
Brent Duke, ATC
Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer
Duke is beginning his first year as a Graduate Assistant at UTA as the primary Athletic Trainer for the men's baseball team. He began his athletic training career at the University of South Carolina, where he gained experience working with the football, baseball, tennis, swimming/diving, and track and field teams. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Physical Education with an emphasis on Athletic Training in 2011. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association, and certified by their Board of Certification.

Cindy Trowbridge, PhD, ATC, CSCS, LAT
Athletic Training Clinical Coordinator
Dr. Trowbridge is now in her third year at UTA as the Clinical Coordinator for the Athletic Training Education Program. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from University of Colorado at Boulder, her Master's of Science in Physical Education/Athletic Training from Indiana State University, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Brigham Young University.
Prior to coming to UTA, Cindy was an assistant clinical professor and athletic trainer at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. She has 12 years of experience in the athletic training profession and has traveled internationally with Women's Bobsled, Men's and Women's Skeleton, Men's and Women's Speed Skating, and Figure Skating. She served as one of the USA athletic trainers for the World University Games in Piancavallo, Italy in January 2003.
Her research interests include prevention of athletic injuries, neuromuscular components of rehabilitation, and the efficacy of modalities in the treatment of injury. She is currently the chair of the written exam development committee for the Board of Certification and is involved with the NATA Foundation, the Southwest Athletic Trainer's Association, and the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers. She also serves the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a member of their Education Council.
