As the college basketball season rapidly approaches, the amount of conversation and water-cooler is starting to pick up. Among the fun topics to read about are the various mid-major programs that are expected to make an impact on the national level. For the last few years, UTA has been in that conversation.
Mid-Major Madness has mentioned the Mavericks several times over the last few years, and they did it again today with a note that UTA senior Kevin Hervey is among the elite mid-major players expected to draw attention from NBA scouts.
Kevin Hervey, UT Arlington. Hervey returned from a torn ACL to put up the best season of his career in 2016-17. He's not a power forward at the next level, but is a terror on the defensive glass that scores efficiently. He flashed three-point potential last season by knocking down 41.8 percent of 98 three-point attempts in Sun Belt play. If that sticks, he becomes very appealing in the modern NBA.
