ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington athletic department had 20 student-athletes named to the Capital One Bank/Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll which was announced by conference officials Monday.
Three UT Arlington athletic programs had student-athletes eligible to receive recognition with volleyball and men's and women's cross country competing during the fall.
The volleyball program had 10 of its 12 student-athletes named to the commissioner's honor roll, including three with 4.0 grade point averages.
The Mavericks increased its fall honorees from 17 in 2008 to 20 this past fall. A total of four UTA student-athletes registered a 4.0 GPA.
Presented by Capital One Bank, the honor roll recognizes student-athletes who have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 of higher and have been eligible to compete in his or her sport during the 2009 fall semester.
