Arlington, Tex. - If you are a true fan of UT Arlington athletics you will be able to show your school spirit with the all-new Blaze vanity license plate.
Maverick fans can check out the plate design at www.myplates.com/register/uta and sign up for an e-mail notice when the plates are available to order. The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles will begin offering the new plates May 2.
The cost to purchase a new UT Arlington/State of Texas license plate varies. If you purchase the plate for one year, it's $55. If you commit to the plate for 5 years, you'll pay $195 and a 10 year commitment is $295 (equal to $29.50 per year). The average price of a current Texas "vanity" plate is $30-$40. A percentage of the sale of the plate goes to UT Arlington student scholarships.
The new plates will replace an older version of the UTA vanity plates. The university teamed with the state and a third-party vendor, MyPlates.com, to design and produce the plates and manage orders.
