ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington student-athletes gave back to the community as they participated in various events over the last week.
Members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Advisory Committee visited with the UTA Tri-O program and talked to students about the benefits of going to college on April 11. Participants included Allyson Te'o, Simba Walker-Williams, Ayofemi Ibrahim, Morgan Hunt and Emoni Taylor.
On April 16, UTA student-athletes met with students from Haltom High School about how to get ready academically for college. Te'o, Sandra Mendoza, Darien McLemore and Jacob Moreland made the trip.
The purpose of the SAAC is to provide student-athletes the opportunity to communicate more effectively with UTA athletic administration, coaches, and staff. It enables student-athletes to provide recommendations for the improvement of academic, athletic and social experiences. The committee encourages unity, common purpose and camaraderie between teams and among all student-athletes.
