ARLINGTON, Texas – As UT Arlington celebrated graduation at College Park Center during three days of ceremonies, 19 student-athletes officially became Maverick alumni as they walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.
Baseball and softball led the way with four graduates apiece, while student-athletes from volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's track and field and women's track and field also earned their degrees.
"Congratulations to our student-athletes for completing one of the true milestone accomplishments in life," UT Arlington Athletics Director Jim Baker said. "Graduation marks both end of their academic careers at UTA and beginning of a new chapter. We wish the best to our student-athletes and all UT Arlington students on their graduations, and for their contributions to our University.
The student-athletes represented a group a part of nine different degrees earned that ranged from interdisciplinary studies, kinesiology and organizational communication.
The 19 students add to 15 graduates from December.
