ARLINGTON, Texas - Members of the UT Arlington Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted an event for the 14U Mansfield Nightmare softball team at Collge Park Center.

SAAC members Callie Collins, Holton Hemby and Hannah Barnett talked with this local softball team about balancing academics and athletics in college as well as the benefits and challenges to being a student-athlete.

"I really love spending time with the community and looking for ways to give back," Barnett said. "It was great getting to spend time with the girls and share my experience as a college student-athlete. You never know how your personal testimony or advice is going to affect someone. I have a passion for helping young girls succeed, so if there is any way I can help them I am all for it!"

At the conclusion of the evening, the Mansfield Nightmare softball team toured the weight room, academic center and practice gyms at College Park Center.
