ARLINGTON, Texas - Counting down to the beginning of the UT Arlington volleyball and basketball seasons, the UT Arlington athletic department announced the beginning of a new social media campaign titled "#iBleedBlue".
The campaign, beginning July 1 and running through UTA's Homecoming Game, is designed to educate fans about the athletic program in an effort to grow the social media following of the program.
"Social media is a vital, immediate and fun avenue to reach our fans," said Art Garcia, UT Arlington assistant athletic director for communication. "This initiative strengthens our bond with the UTA community and our followers, while giving them a chance to be more involved with the Mavericks and win prizes along the way."
As a part of the campaign, followers of UTA's Twitter (@UTAMavs), Facebook (facebook.com/UTArlingtonAthletics) and Instagram will have an opportunity to win prizes through UTA's social media handles and receive exclusive notifications of events, giveaways and contests.
UTA's three social media platforms are used on a daily basis to spread news about Maverick teams, coaches and student-athletes through releases, infographics, game information and more.
Prizes include UTA gear, tickets, gift cards, autographs and other UTA-related items.
