UT Arlington and adidas announce three-year partnership

Arlington, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today it has reached a three-year agreement with adidas to outfit each of UT Arlington's 14 Division I intercollegiate sports programs starting with the 2012-13 season.

The comprehensive multi-year partnership is a first of its kind for UTA's athletic department and coincides with the University's impending moves to the Western Athletic Conference in 2012-13 and the Sun Belt Conference in 2013-14.

"We are thrilled to become an adidas-sponsored program," UT Arlington director of athletics Jim Baker said. "Adidas has a reputation around the world of product excellence and we look forward to seeing our teams wearing the adidas logo was we move into the WAC and in the future."

Adidas currently partners with more than 70 collegiate programs, as well as professional leagues such as the NBA, international soccer teams and numerous professional athletes.

"Adidas is thrilled with our new partnership with the University of Texas at Arlington," adidas official Paul Andrews said. "As the adidas team representative for the state of Texas, I'm very proud to be supporting such an outstanding school with such rich tradition right here in my own backyard. We look forward to working with UTA for years to come."
