ARLINGTON, Texas -- Last month five student-athletes, who are a part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), spoke at the Upward Bound "College and Career Connections" conference to high school students.
More than 200 high school students attended the conference. UT Arlington student-athletes took part in six breakout sessions.
DeOna Stafford (Track and Field), Ashley Burris (Track and field), Breonna Baldwin (Track and field), Hannah Barnett (Softball) and Kelsey Willson (Women's basketball) talked to the high school students about the degrees they're pursuing, how they want to apply their degrees upon graduation, what it is like being a college student-athlete, how to be successful in college with your academics and athletics and how to pick a major.
