Arlington, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington, in conjunction with website host CBS College Sports, unveiled a brand new, redesigned utamavs.com.
The new utamavs.com will present a much cleaner look, consolidating site navigation and upgrading many of the site's internal pages. While the main redesign launched Tuesday, internal updates and additional features will continue to be added throughout the year.
"Our official website is the most complete and timely source of information for Maverick fans," UTA director of athletics Pete Carlon said. "It is also a critical piece in our marketing efforts, particularly in attracting student-athletes."
Following is a quick look at some of the highlights coming in the new utamavs.com:
Improved navigation, graphics and design that enable users move about the site quicker and easier.
An all-access section with video content, press conferences, one-on-one interviews and more.
Wider photos with large lead story pictures on the front page and in various sections of the site.
Updated news, stories, and statistics about all aspects of UTA intercollegiate athletics.
One of the most distinctive features will be the addition of a photo store, which will provide fans the opportunity to purchase file photos from the athletics department and will include past and present photos of athletes, coaches, fans, celebrations and facilities as well as custom framing options.
Also, fans can find feature stories on their favorite Mavericks team or student-athlete in the new features section.
Online auctions will also become more frequent here online as fans will get the chance to bid on select UTA memorabilia and autographed items throughout the year.
The site is built on a new platform that is designed to better serve users in the broadband environment. The redesign includes more prominent video placement to complement content and interactive tools that enable users to view photos, videos and stories.
The site will continue to receive CBS College Sports' industry-leading suite of online and new media solutions which includes the new custom design, UTA All-Access multimedia platform, wireless alerts, and GameTracker.
CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV) is a leader in collegiate Web site hosting, providing more than 215 official athletic sites for colleges and universities around the nation.
