ARLINGTON, Texas -- The University of Texas at Arlington Department of Intercollegiate Athletics today announced its 2013-14 men’s and women’s basketball schedules.

The season marks a number of firsts for both programs, as they will be playing their inaugural year as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.  It is also the first season for new Mavericks women’s head coach Krista Gerlich.

Both teams open on Nov. 8 with the men’s team playing at Boise State and the women at Houston Baptist.

The men’s team opens its home schedule with three games in four nights on Nov. 12 when it hosts Samford and then finishes the week with annual Homecoming game Nov. 15 against Cleveland State.  The women’s team has their first home game on Nov. 14 when they host Incarnate Word.

The men’s schedule is highlighted by a game at Kentucky on Nov. 19.  The Mavericks will also play at Texas (Nov. 29) and Oklahoma (Dec. 17).  The women’s team plays at Oklahoma State (Nov. 10) and at Oklahoma (Dec. 20).

Sun Belt Conference play begins with three consecutive home games against Arkansas State (Jan. 2), UALR (Jan. 4) and Louisiana-Monroe (Jan. 8 for the women and Jan. 9 for the men’s team).   The Mavericks first road conference games will be Jan. 11 at Louisiana-Lafayette.

The teams will host six home doubleheaders at College Park Center and those are scheduled for Dec. 21, Jan. 2, Jan. 4, Jan. 25, Feb. 15 and Mar. 1.

The Women’s Sun Belt Conference Tournament is scheduled for March 12-15 while the men’s tournament will take place from March 13-16.  Both tournaments will be held in New Orleans at the Lakefront Arena.

Premium seating packages that include College Park Center Hospitality Suite access are now sale for courtside and club seating.  These ticket packages are good for every home game both teams will play.

Season tickets will go on sale in September for each team.
