Julie Homuth has been hired as an assistant trainer for the UT Arlington athletics program.
Homuth will be the primary trainer for the Mavericks' women's basketball team. She is a 2004 graduate of Winona State University with a bachelors degree in exercise science-athletic training. At Winona State she achieved a 4.0 grade-point-average and was on the Dean's List for eight consecutive semesters. She was a letterwinner for the WSU volleyball team before concentrating on athletic training.
Homuth completed her master's degree in kinesiology in athletic training from Michigan State University earlier this summer.
A member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA), the Great Lakes Athletic Training Association (GLATA) and the Michigan Athletic Training Society (NATS). She is a certified athletic trainer, an American Red Cross instructor for the professional rescuers and has her professional rescuers certification.
At Michigan State, she was the primary trainer for the Spartans' softball program and men's and women's soccer teams. In addition, she worked with the MSU football, wrestling, cross country and softball programs. She also worked the Twistars Gymnastics Invitational meet and the CAAC Boy's Conference swim meet.
