ARLINGTON, Texas - With classes just around the corner, UTA welcomed back all student-athletes mid-Sunday afternoon with a special dinner and social. All teams were welcomed and invited as members from the men's basketball to track were in attendance.
"It's great, just to meet different teams and different people," freshman guard of the Movin' Mavs John McPhail said. "It's good to see other people who have the same common interests."
Senior women's basketball guard LaTosha Duffey enjoyed the first time event, eager to meet and socialize with other student-athletes.
"I love that we're all getting together as a student-athlete body," Duffey said. "I think this is a great way for us to interact and talk and meet other student athletes on campus."
Duffey also mentioned the impact the event had on freshmen.
"This is wonderful for freshman so they can see that we have camaraderie among student-athletes and they get to have some fun and eat," Duffey said. "It's a lot of hard work but we also know how to have a good time."
