ARLNGTON, Texas – UT Arlington Director of Athletics Jim Baker announced the promotion of three members of the UTA Athletics staff on Thursday.
"These members of our team continue to reflect the values of UTA Intercollegiate Athletics, and each one contributes to the well being of our student-athletes," Baker said. "We are happy to announce their new titles, not only as an indication of their continued professional growth, but our commitment to UTA to develop leaders."
Giammanco joined the UTA staff in January of 2005 and has served as the primary athletic trainer for volleyball and softball. Moving forward, Giammanco will be overseeing the training efforts for volleyball. She graduated in 2003 from ULM with a BS in Physical Education and MS in Exercise Science in 2004.
Perry began her at UTA as an assistant coach for UTA softball from 1999-2012. In the summer of 2012 she moved into the Compliance Office as the Athletics Compliance Assistant. Since moving into the position she has helped guide the athletics program to new heights in its integration within the compliance office and improved the partnership with JumpForward. Perry was a four-year letterwinner for UTA softball from 1995-1999.
Wardell joined the UTA staff in fall of 2013 after serving with the men's basketball program at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. Wardell earned his master's from Northwestern State and holds certifications in Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Applied Functional Science (CAFS), and Sports Performance Certification from US Weightlifting. Wardell is from Huddersfield, England and earned his degree from the University of Huddersfield.
