POTEET, BOSWELL, SANGER WIN TITLES AT GERALD RICHEY HS CROSS COUNTRY MEET

ARLINGTON - - Mesquite Poteet, Saginaw Boswell and Sanger left Vandergriff Park in Arlington with team trophies Saturday at the Gerald Richey High School Cross Country Invitational.
Poteet won the Division I boys title with a score of 42, finishing ahead of second-place Boswell (82). Forney was third, followed by Northside and Cedar Hill. In the Division I girls race, Boswell coasted to the team title with 26 points. Second place went to Cleburne (118), followed by Fort Worth Nolan Catholic and Cedar Hill.
In Division II, Sanger's score of 22 points was easily ahead of the pack in the boys race. Priddy was second with 89, followed by Nolan, Kennedale and Fort Worth Carter-Riverside. In Division II girls, Sanger's 50 points held off a charge by second-place Gunter (87) and Pilot Point (98).
Ramiro Garcia of Northside took the Division I individual boys title with a time of 16:00.38, ahead of Mesquite Poteet's Andy Ortiz (16:24.36). Haltom's Ashley Flores ran an 11:37.96 to win the girls Division I race, ahead of Maggie Escobar of Saginaw Boswell.
Matthew Hee of Priddy won the Division II boys race, finishing ahead of second-place Marcus Richroath of Sanger. Richroath was one of five Sanger runners to finish in the Top 8. Boyd's Katie Mark won the girls Division I individual title, ahead of Muenster's Emily Hellman.
