ARLINGTON, Texas – The University of Texas at Arlington and Service Broadcasting announced today they have entered into an agreement to broadcast all of the university’s men’s basketball games on KKDA-AM (730) and streamed live on Soul730.com starting with the 2012-13 season.
Coverage will begin with the season-opener on Nov. 9 when the Mavericks play at Cal State Bakersfield and will include all regular and postseason games. Service Broadcasting is also providing marketing assets to the university on Soul 730 AM and their sister stations – K104 – (KKDA-FM 104.5) and Smooth R&B 105.7 (KRNB-FM 105.7) - will all promote the broadcasts. On-air personalities and the station’s street-marketing teams will also be visible at UT Arlington games at the College Park Center.
“This partnership is a great step forward in us servicing our ever-growing fan base with a quality station to hear our men’s basketball games,” UT Arlington senior associate athletic director Gregg Elkin said. “We are excited to get the season going on KKDA and to see their popular on-air talents at our games.”
“Partnering with UT Arlington is a natural extension of Service Broadcasting’s never ending commitment to being a part of the DFW community,” Service Broadcasting Operations Manager Michael Erickson said. “This year’s team is built to provide a lot of excitement and we are proud to be broadcasting the games to their fans.”
The announcers for the game will be a pair of veteran local broadcasters in Russell Scott and Doug Anderson. “We are excited to have Russell and Doug call our games,” Elkin said. “They both bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of the game to the broadcasts and we are looking forward to having them be part of our team.”
