The UT Arlington men's basketball team will have four games broadcast on regional television and Texas Hall will be the stage for a Fox Sports Network region televised game against Texas State, it was announced Monday.

The Mavericks first telecast will be Saturday as UT Arlington meets TCU at Daniel Meyer Coliseum on Fort Worth. The game time has been changed to noon instead of 7 p.m. for television.

The UTA-Oklahoma game on Saturday, Dec. 16 will be shown in Oklahoma and parts of Missouri and Kansas as part of the Sooner Sports Network. The Mavs' annual trip to Austin at a game against Texas will be shown on Fox Southwest and the Southland Conference matchup with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will be Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi.

The UT Arlington televised games are part of the Southland Conference 2006-07 basketball television schedule. The slate includes 20 games to be aired by a variety of networks, including six conference matchups and the 2007 O'Reilly Auto Parts Southland Conference Women's Tournament championship game on Fox Sports Net Southwest at 2 p.m. on March 10. The men's final is set for national broadcast by ESPN 2 on Sunday, March 11, at 1 p.m.

"We are pleased with the announcement of the 2006-07 television schedule," Southland commissioner Tom Burnett said. "We appreciate the interest shown by our television partners, and look forward to some great telecasts this year."

Beginning with the Nicholls State men playing at Washington on FSN-Northwest on Nov. 13, Southland men's teams will be featured in nine non-conference telecasts through Jan. 2. Three of those nine will be seen regionally on FSN-Southwest with SLC teams visiting the University of Texas. Nicholls will play the Longhorns on Nov. 22, followed by Texas State on Dec. 16 and UT Arlington on Jan. 2.

After the start of Southland Conference play in early January, six regular-season games, including two women's telecasts, will be shown on FSN Southwest, a regional network that serves nearly eight million cable television households in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and portions of New Mexico.

Lamar's men will visit Sam Houston State on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in the first league game.

Texas State's women will play at Texas-Arlington on Feb. 2 in the first of five SLC games to be aired on FSN-Southwest in the month of February.

For the first time in the 44-year history of Southland Conference basketball, the league will contest its regular season with divisional play. The change is a result of the SLC expanding to an all-time high 12 members on July 1 as Central Arkansas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi were welcomed to the conference. Divisional play will consist of UCA, Lamar, McNeese State, Nicholls State, Northwestern State and Southeastern Louisiana in the East.

The West will be made up of SHSU, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, UT Arlington and UTSA.
