ARLINGTON, Texas- College Park Center is quiet this week with all of the action taking place on the road. The men and women's basketball team face tough opponents in the week ahead.
The men's basketball team bounced back from its tough loss at home to Oklahoma by defeating Samford on the road. The Mavericks used a 20-1 first half run to pull ahead and put its record to 2-1 on the season. This week, UTA faces two in-state rivals in a big week to help define this early season.
UTA travels to Denton on Wednesday night to face metroplex rival North Texas at 7:30 p.m and then takes on the University of Texas on Saturday.
For the Mavs to be successful this week it will need more strong play from its standout senior forward Jordan Reves. Reves had 14-points and 12 rebounds in the 65-58 win on Saturday.
"Jordan did a great job," Cross said. "He's been so solid for us all year long. That was his second double-double. He's done a great job locking down the paint for us."
Both the UNT and UT games can be seen on TV. The Mavericks game against the Mean Green will be shown on TXA-21 while the Longhorns game is featured on the Longhorn Network.
