ARLINGTON, Texas -- The UT Arlington Athletic Department bolstered its marketing efforts with the announcement that Eric Trimborn has joined the staff as Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing.
"I am very excited to join a strong staff at UTA," Trimborn said. "I am grateful to Jim Baker, Russell Warren and the whole team at UTA for a wonderful opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing athletics program. There are a lot of exciting things happening on campus, including tremendous opportunities within the community, and I am thrilled to be a part of that growth."
A native of Naugatuck, Conn., Trimborn joins the UTA staff after spending the previous three years as the Assistant Director of Marketing at Texas A&M, working directly with the Aggie football, men's basketball, volleyball and baseball programs.
"I am thrilled to welcome Eric to the Maverick family," UTA Deputy Athletics Director Russell Warren said. "Our marketing efforts continue to be a top priority for the department, and Eric's experience and knowledge of the sports industry will be invaluable as we continue to exceed our strategic objectives and goals. I look forward to Eric building relationships with the communities that we serve."
A 2012 graduate of Connecticut, Trimborn joined the Aggies after working for more than a year at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he handled marketing efforts for volleyball, men's and women's basketball, and baseball. He also worked at Vanderbilt, directing Commodore athletics marketing initiatives with women's soccer and women's basketball.
While with the Aggies, Trimborn had a great impact on the promotional efforts of his assigned sports, including initiation of baseball's participation in the Vs. Cancer Foundation, the creation of men's basketball's Maroon Madness tip-off event and 12 Days of Madness campaign. Trimborn spearheaded a DriveFor5 season-ticket campaign for the 2016-17 men's basketball program and during his time with men's basketball, the Aggies ranked sixth nationally for the largest attendance increase from the 2014-15 to 2015-16 seasons. In addition, the Aggie baseball program set series and single-game attendance records at Olsen Field.
