Mavs Add to Athletic Training Staff

Duong, Dreher, Chatila, Hamilton Join Full-Time Staff

Bao Duong is in his first year as an Associate Athletic Trainer with UTA and is in his fourth season as the athletic trainer for the Maverick baseball team.

A 2014 and 2016 graduate of UTA, Duong was promoted to the Associate Athletic Trainer role after his previous three years as the graduate assistant and intern athletic trainer, starting in 2014. He handles all medical needs of the Mavericks, including evaluation, prevention, treatment and care of athletes. Duong works directly with the coaching staff, doctors and medical staff in coverage for UTA's student-athletes.

In addition to his bevy of experience with the Mavericks, Duong has worked with the Perfect Game, Diamond King Tournaments, V Tool Showcases and the New York Met's Scouts Team. He has clinical experience with Mansfield Lake Ridge High School, South Grand Prairie High School, Cedar Hill High School and Mansfield Legacy High School. He has volunteered to work a litany of events, including the state's top football team of Cedar Hill High School and James Martin High School, College Gridiron Showcase, the Megan Rapinoe Camp, the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy Classic, and the Dallas Junior Hockey League,

He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association, and Texas State Athletic Trainers' Association. 

Duong graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training in 2014 and a Master's of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration in 2016. He currently resides in Grand Prairie, Texas, with his family.
