DrewHarris has 16 years of experience in public relations, working primarily in sports media at both the college and professional levels. He currently serves as the media relations contact for the track and field and cross country programs at UT Arlington.
Harris owns First Pitch Public Relations, and in addition to working with UT Arlington Athletics, he also has contracts with The Ben Hogan Award, the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and the Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate.
Other First Pitch clients include the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, Heart of Dallas Bowl, Muckleroy & Falls, The Associated Press, Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau, Paulie Ayala Productions and Sons of the Flag Burn Foundation.
Prior to founding his company, Harris worked for three years as the Sports Information Director at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, overseeing the publicity efforts for the university's 16 intercollegiate sports. Harris previously spent seven years at Texas Christian University as the Associate Director of Athletics Media Relations.
Prior to his appointment at TCU, Harris gained public relations experience with the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer. He also served as a media relations intern for the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Harris, a native of Peosta, Iowa, graduated from Iowa State University in 1998 with a double major in journalism/mass communication and political science. Harris resides in Fort Worth with his wife, Rachel, and their children: Grant, Ben and Gracie.
