Smith, Brown and Vaughn lead Mavericks at TCU Invitational
AT UT ARLINGTON Cross Country Highlights: 2012
• Competed in one event, the UTA Season Opener, where he placed 24th (16:25.4).
2011
• Competed in two events for the Mavericks, with his best time being a 21:34 at the Baylor Invitational.
• Finished 29th at the UTA Season Opener in 22:39.
2010
• Did not compete in the 2010 cross country season.
Indoor Highlights: 2013
• Scored points in a pair of events for the Mavericks at the Western Athletic Conference Championships.
• Placed fifth in the 800m with a season-best time (1:54.46) and the mile (4:20.93) at the league meet.
• Had a season-best time of 4:17.16 in the mile during a third-place showing at the Varsity Apartments Invitational.
2012
• Earned a fourth-place finish in the mile run at the SLC Championships with a season-best clocking of 4:14.12.
• Had a trio of runner-up showings throughout the year.
• Finished second in the mile at both the J.D. Martin Invitational (4:23.07) and the Varsity Apartments Invitational (4:19.00).
• Also took second in the 800 meters (1:54.13) at the Oklahoma Invitational.
2011
• Took third in the mile run with a time of 4:23.54 at the Oklahoma Sooner Open I.
• Placed second in the mile run with a season-best time of 4:19.88 in the Houston Indoor Invitational.
• Came in second at the Varsity Apartments Shocker Quad in the mile run (4:20.61).
• Competed in the SLC Indoor Championships in the mile run, finishing in 4:41.82.
Outdoor Highlights: 2012
• Reached the finals of the 1500 meters at the Southland Conference Championships, where he placed 10th (3:57.65).
• Had a season-best time of 1:54.18 at the Leon Johnson Invitational.
• Ran his best 1500m time of the year at the Beach Invitational (3:53.92).
• Competed in three events at the Texas Relays, the 1500 meters, 4x800 relay and distance medley relay.
2011
• Narrowly missed scoring for the Mavericks with a ninth-place finish in the 1500m at the SLC Outdoor Championships following his best time of the season (3:55.51).
• Was the runner up in the 1500m at the North Texas Spring Classic with a time of 4:05.09.
• Placed fourth in the 1500m with a time of 4:02.74 at the Horned Frog Invitational.
• Took fifth in the 800m with a time of 1:57.17 at the Northwestern State Invitational.
• Placed fifth in the 1500m at the Michael Johnson Classic with a time of 4:01.58.
HIGH SCHOOL
• Named high school's Track & Field/Cross Country Athlete of the Year.
• Qualified for regional meet in the 800m and 1600m as a junior.
• District champion in the 800m as a senior and also qualified for the state meet.
• Placed fourth at the state meet in the 1600m, recording a personal-best time of 4:18.42.
• Other personal records include 1:58.35 in the 800m, 4:30.29 in the mile, 10:50.02 in the 3200m, 16:34 in the 3-mile and 17:57.33 in the 5000m.
