AT UT ARLINGTON Indoor Highlights 2014
Scored for UTA in the 200m at the Sun Belt Conference Championships by placing eighth (22.35).
Had a season-best 200m time of 21.92 in the prelims at the league meet.
Finished 11th in the 60 meters at the SBC meet with a season-best clocking of 6.98.
Outdoor Highlights 2014
Earned Second-Team All-America honors in the 4x100 meters, as UTA finished 15th in the semifinal race (39.60).
Helped the 4x100m quartet set a school record in the NCAA West Preliminary Round (39.55).
Placed 10th in the 200m (21.34) and 11th in the 100m (10.59) at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
Had a season-best 200m time of 21.11 in a ninth-place finish at the Bobcat Classic.
PRIOR TO UT ARLINGTON
Competed in track and field at the University of North Texas.
Played one year of football at Blinn College before having a career ending shoulder injury.
Was a three-time regional qualifier in track and field.
Qualified for the National Junior Olympics three years in a row.
Lettered four years in football, three years in track and field, and one year in baseball in high school.
Was selected to play in the Houston Space City Classic All Star football game as a senior.
Is the son of former Annettra and Warren Newson.
Father played professional baseball, including three seasons with the Texas Rangers.
Has three siblings, Quadrie, Tray and Shawn.
