UT Arlington women and men each claim five events.

After completing his eligibility following the 2012-13 athletics season, Hance Loyd accepted the director of operations position with UT Arlington. In addition to his administrative duties, he also works with the Mavericks' distance runners.

In his senior season of 2012, he helped UTA win the Western Athletic Conference cross country title, finishing 21st at the league meet with a clocking of 25:14.82. Loyd participated in all six events for the Mavericks, who achieved the school's highest ranking (sixth) in the South Central Region in more than two decades.

Loyd was a four-year letterman in cross country and also competed in indoor and outdoor track. He earned his degree in history from UT Arlington in 2013.

A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, he won the Class 2A state cross country title in 2008. Loyd also won back-to-back district championships (2007, 2008).
