AS A SOPHOMORE (2014-15): Ran in one cross country meet, placing 30th in the 5k UTA Season Opener (17:04.6) ... Was 13th at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships in the 800m (1:57.36) ... Placed 14th at the outdoor league meet in the 800m (1:55.30) ... Had a season-best clocking of 1:55.08 to place 30th at the Michael Johnson Classic.
AS A FRESHMAN (2013-14): Did not compete during the 2013 cross country season or the 2014 indoor or season ... Participated in five outdoor meets, seeing action in the 400 meters ... Had a season-best time of 49.73 in an eighth-place finish at the Michael Johnson Classic ... Placed 19th in the prelims of the 400m at the Sun Belt Conference Championships (50.26).
BEFORE UT ARLINGTON: Was the district champion in the 400m and 800m in 2012 and 2013 ... Won the 400 meters at the 2011 Region IV meet to qualify for the state meet, where he placed seventh ... Was the regional bronze medalist in the 800 meters ... Victorious in the 400m and 800m races at the district meet in 2012 ... Named team captain of the cross country squad twice ... Qualified for the regional cross country meet in 2011 and 2012 ... Had top times of 48.50 in the 400 meters and 1:56.78 in the 800 meters.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Michelle and Eric De Leon ... Is a mechanical engineering major ... Was a member of the National Honor Society and was on the A-B Honor Roll as a prep ... Earned the Athletic Champine Award and was a distinguished honor student ... Also was an area and regional qualifier in swimming.
