Sammy Nash is in her second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the UT Arlington men's and women's track and field programs after spending four seasons competing in the pole vault as a UTA student-athlete.
During her time at UTA, Nash was a two-time all-conference performer and also was a Capital One Bank/Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient. She twice finished third at the conference's outdoor meet (2009, 2011).
Her career-best mark came in 2012, when she cleared 3.77 meters at the Track-It Buster Invitational.
As a prep, she was the District 4-5A pole vault champion as a junior and senior and was a regional qualifier all four years at Burleson High School.
Nash graduated from UT Arlington with a degree in criminal justice.
