ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington junior Brandon Waller has been named the Western Athletic Conference's Male Field Athlete of the Week following his performance at Saturday's J.D. Martin Invitational.
At the meet, hosted by the University of Oklahoma, Waller won the triple jump with a season-best mark of 47-00.25 and finished third in the long jump with another season-best effort (23-03.25).
Waller's long jump and triple jump distances each rank as the second best in the league thus far this season. This is the first career weekly award for the Arlington Bowie product.
