Texas Trust Scholar-Athlete of the Week

ARLINGTON, Texas - Each week, the UTA Athletic Department spotlights a Texas Trust Scholar-Athlete of the Week to showcase the excellence in academic achievement of its student-athletes. Today, learn all about UTA junior high jumper and multi-event athlete Alexus Henry.

Henry, a native of Bridge City, Texas, is an education major who competes on the women’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams. A highly decorated athlete, she is the school record holder in the indoor high jump and indoor pentathlon. In addition, she won the 2016 Sun Belt Conference individual title in the indoor high jump and placed third in the heptathlon at the 2017 SBC Outdoor Championships. She has twice qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the high jump and placed among the top 20 in the event at the 2016 NCAA Championships.
