ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington men's and women's track and field teams are set to switch gears to the outdoor season this week when the squad makes the short trek west to Fort Worth to participate in the TCU Invitational.
"We are eager to take our momentum from the indoor season right into the outdoor season," head coach John Sauerhage said. "This meet also will serve as very good preparation for our home meet next weekend."
On Thursday afternoon, three field events--discus (women), hammer throw and javelin--will be contested beginning at 1 p.m. The remaining field competitions--discus (men), high jump, pole vault, shot put, long jump and triple jump--will take place beginning at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Running events are slated to start at 12:30 p.m. Friday. The event order is as follows: steeplechase, 4x100 relay, 1500m, 100m/110m hurdles, 400m, 100m, 800m, 400m hurdles, 200m, 3000m and 4x400m relay.
All events will take place at the Lowdon Track Complex on the TCU campus. Results will be posted on www.gofrogs.com.
UTA will host the annual Bobby Lane Invitational at Maverick Stadium on Saturday, March 23.
