ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington track and field standouts Morgan Domingue and Quentin Butler each received weekly honors from the Western Athletic Conference Wednesday based on their performances at the Texas State Invitational over the weekend.
Domingue, a junior from League City, Texas (Clear Lake H.S.), was named the WAC female field athlete of the week after posting the best long jump mark in the league this season (6.08m, 19-11.5) at Texas State. She was the runner up in the event and the top collegiate finisher. Her mark ranks 31st in the nation and 13th in the West Regional Qualifying.
Butler was honored for the second consecutive week, this time earning men's track athlete of the week after taking home field honors on Apr. 3. Butler, a sophomore from Corpus Christi, Texas (West Oso H.S.), posted the fastest 200-meter time in the WAC this year (20.99) at the Texas State Invitational in a fourth-place finish. His time ranks 21st nationally and 10th in the West Regional Qualifying.
Butler also helped the 4x400 relay team to a winning time of 3:15.02 and helped the 4x100 relay team to a third-place time of 41.34. Butler also competed in the long jump, recording the second-best jump of the season in the WAC with a distance of 7.41m (24-03.75).
