ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men’s and women’s track teams return to Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on Saturday to compete in the Texas Invitational. A number of UTA athletes competed at the same site just two weeks ago at the Texas Relays.

The women’s nine-team field includes strong competition for UTA, as Baylor, Houston, Rice, SMU, Texas, Texas State, USF and UTSA will be competing. The field will include seven men’s teams for UT Arlington to contend with: Baylor, Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Texas, Texas State, USF and UTSA.

“This is another step in the process for us,” UTA coach John Sauerhage said. “We are just a month away from the conference championships, so it’s an important time for all of our athletes.”

Three men are currently leading the Sun Belt Conference in their respective events. Ryan Tilotta boasts the best 5000m time, Roland Sales is tied for first in the high jump and Brandon Waller tops the chart in the long jump.

On the women’s side, Ashly Wright owns the league’s best time in the 800m, while Morgan Domingue has the leading mark in the long jump.

The one-day Texas Invitational will be scored, meaning that team point standings will be kept. Live results will be available on TexasSports.com.

Field events Saturday start at 10:30 a.m. (CT), while running events begin at 1:30 p.m.
