One of the most decorated distance runners in UTA track history, Mishael Berger enters her third season as an assistant coach working with the team's quarter milers and middle-distance athletes.
Berger ranked eighth in the nation last year for the women's 800 meters. She competed at the 2005 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, finishing sixth in the semifinals with a time of 2:03.87.
The NCAA Indoor All-American was a member of 10 UTA teams that won Southland Conference championships between 1999-2001. She is the school record holder in the 800 meters, both indoor and outdoor. She earned all-American honors in the 800 meters at the 2000 NCAA Indoor Championships and qualified for the NCAA Championships in the outdoor season of 2000.
The Pottsboro, Texas, native captured six individual conference titles in the 800 meters and was the member of three relays teams that won SLC championships. Berger has competed in three consecutive U.S. Outdoor Championships and advanced to the semifinals of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trails in the 800 meters. Berger graduated with a bachelor of science degree in information systems at UTA.
