Competed in six of the Mavericks seven meets during her sophomore season... best finish came at the Texas A&M-CC Islander Splash where she placed 21st with a time of 19:29... opened the season with a 24th place finish at the Midwestern State Invitational with a time of 16:19.93... crossed the finish line in 26th place with a time of 19:29.78 at the MSU Cowboy Stampede... placed 32nd with a time of 12:53.14 at the UT Arlington Season Opener... turned in a 71st place finish with a time of 25:01.80 at the SLC Meet... finished 285th with a time of 19:46.09 at the Chili Pepper Invitational.

Ran in all seven meets for the Mavericks... Finished 15th at the TCU Season Opener(9/5) posting a time of 12.23...recorded a time of 19.37 at the Ken Garland Invitational(9/19) to finish 26th... ran 22:44 at the SLC Meet for 36th place... finished 44th overall with a time of 19:07 at the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Splash... crossed the finish in 126th place with a time of 19:39 at the Oklahoma State Jamboree... ran 23:56 for 159th place at the Arkansas Invitational.
Capital One Bank/Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient...qualified for conference in the 800m race after clocking a 2:22.70 at the Sooner Open... placed eighth (2:20.25) in the SLC Championship 800 finals... ran in two mile races registering a 5:27.78 at the Texas A&M Invite.
Qualified for conference in the 800m but did not score... placed 22nd (2:19.24) in the prelims of the 800m at the SLC Championships... ran 2:18.03 at the John Jacobs Invitational for 17th place... ran in one 1500m race with a time of 4:59.41.

Paz earned four letters in cross country and four in track and field at Chapin High School... was a two-time all state, four-time all-district and three-time region runner... placed top-10 in region... career best of 2:15.69 in the 800 meter dash... career best 11:37 in the two mile... career best of 59.78 in the 400 meter dash... guided Chapin High School to four district championships in track and field and cross country... was part of a team that finished top three in region all four years... off the track, Paz was a AB Honor Roll recipient all four years... member of the National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society... finished in the top 10 percent in her class... voted Who's Who Among High School Students.
Paz is the daughter of Jose and Grace Paz... born February 17, 1991... has one brother (Jose Jr.)and one sister (Jessica)... majoring in criminal justice.
