Mavericks distance crews ready for Western Athletic Conference
AT UT ARLINGTON Indoor Highlights: 2012
• Finished 16th in the mile at the SLC Championships with a season-best time of 4:29.14.
• Took fifth in the mile run at the Oklahoma Invitational (4:29.81).
• Ran a season-best time of 8:49.68 in the 3000 meters at the Texas 10-Team Invitational to place 10th.
2011
• Placed third in the 3000 meter in the Varsity Apartments Shocker Quad with a time of 8:56.59.
Outdoor Highlights: 2012
• Competed in three events on the season, including the Southland Conference Championships.
• Ran a season-best time of 9:31.65 in the 3000m steeplechase at the SLC meet.
• Clocked a 4:10.94 in the 1500 meters at the Track-It Buster Invitational.
2011
• Took fifth place in the SLC Outdoor Championships in the 3000 steeplechase with a personal best time of 9:27.98.
• Placed fourth in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 10:05.61 at the Northwestern State Invitational.
• Came in fourth in the 3000 steeplechase in the Michael Johnson Classic with a time of 9:50.85.
Cross Country Highlights: 2011
• Competed in just one event, the UTA Season Opener, where he placed 29th in 21:45.
2010
• Ran in six of the Mavericks seven meets in his first season.
• Best finish came at the start of the season where he placed 26th overall with a time of 20:08.40 at the Midwestern State Invitational.
• Turned in a 29th place finish with a time of 28:34 at the Texas A&M-CC Islander Splash.
• Clocked a time of 23:14.74 for 36th place at the UT Arlington Season Opener.
• Finished 41st overall with at time of 21:44.77 at the MSU Cowboy Stampede.
• Placed 56th at the SLC meet with a time of 27:57.60.
• Competed at the Chile Pepper Invitational where he earned a 319th place finish with a time of 34:26.97.
HIGH SCHOOL
• Recorded two top-15 finishes in the Region 1-5A meet.
• Finished 13th in the 3200 meters, running a 10:04.41.
• Clocked a 4:30.72 in the 1600m, finishing ninth.
• Set a new personal-best time in the 1600m with a 4:24.53 in the District 8-5A Meet.
• Set another individual record at the district meet with a 9:41.90 in the 3200m.
• Personal record in the 3-mile is 16:22.00.
• Earned five varsity letters, three in cross country and two in track.
• Named Plano East's Runner of the Year as a senior.
