ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington men's and women's cross country teams will have a new home beginning this fall, as the university has reached an agreement that will make Lynn Creek Park at Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie, Texas, the site for all UT Arlington-affiliated cross country meets.
"We are excited about our new home at Lynn Creek Park," head coach John Sauerhage said. "It will provide us with a true cross country layout and will be a great venue for years to come. Hopefully a strong partnership like this will allow us the opportunity to host a Sun Belt Conference Championship in the future."
The inaugural event at Lynn Creek Park will be the UTA Season Opener/Gerald Richey Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14. The annual meet features collegiate and high school races for both men and women.
In addition, UT Arlington also will host the highly-regarded UIL Region II cross country meet on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Lynn Creek Park is located at 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway in Grand Prairie.
