Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington men's and women's cross country teams head to Fayetteville, Ark. for the Chili Pepper Invitational.
The women's cross country team placed 19th out of 56 teams at last year's meet. Emily Koenig finished 23rd with a time of 17:28.29.
In last year's Chili Pepper Invitational the men's cross country team placed 35th. Eric Montou and Heinz Schwarzkopf finished with the Maverick's best time of 32:44.88 and placed 182nd overall.
Coach Sauerhage knows this meet will not be easy for his team, "It's a national caliber meet and it will be a difficult challenge for us, but we've been working really hard and we're looking forward to going".
Cody Widener led the men's team with a time of 27:00 placing 37th.
The Chili Pepper Invitational is Saturday, Oct. 15 and it is an all day event.
