Women take fifth while men take seventh at SLC Championships

Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington men's and women's cross country teams placed seventh and fifth at the SLC Championships early this morning at the Piney Woods Country Club in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Sophomore Emily Koenig turned in a 12th place finish with a time of 22:02 while Maria Sandstrom took home 20th place with a time of 22:23.

Senior Jennifer Campos crossed the finish line in 22nd place with a time of 22:27 while Hanna Nilsson recorded a time of 23:04 good for 31st place.

Sydney Hampton finished 38th overall with a time of 23:18 while junior Marissa Paz placed 40th with a time of 23:22.

Lindsey Putman clocked a time of 23:28 for 44th place while freshman Courtney Mose placed 80th with a time of 25:28.

As a team, the women recorded a total of 123 points, falling behind A&M-Corpus Christi (65), UTSA (70), Lamar (92) and Texas State (115).

David Rayo led the men's squad finishing in 33rd place with a time of 26:36. Cody Widener crossed the finish line with a time of 26:41 for 36th place.

Zack Zura placed 39th with a time of 26:41 while Emil Blomberg turned in a 49th place finish with a time of 27:30.

Caleb Williams crossed the end line in 55th place with a time of 27:44 while Robert Gribble followed behind him in 56th place with a time of 27:47.

Hance Loyd recorded a time of 27:52 good for 57th place while Holton Hemby turned in a time of 28:49 for 65th place.

 

 

As a team, the men pick up seventh place with a total score of 204 points. Lamar (29), UTSA (63), A&M-Corpus Christi (91), Stephen F. Austin (100) and McNeese State (134) rounded out the top five spots.
