Texas Trust Scholar-Athlete of the Week

ARLINGTON, Texas - Each week, the UTA Athletic Department spotlights a Texas Trust Scholar-Athlete of the Week to showcase the excellence in academic achievement of its student-athletes. Today, learn all about UTA sophomore distance runner Cole Klashinsky.

Klashinsky, a native of Flower Mound, Texas, competes on both the men's cross country and track and field teams. The sophomore business major was one of the team's top runners for the league runner-up Mavericks this fall. He competed in all six cross country meets this year, including the Sun Belt Conference Championships and the NCAA South Central Regional. He placed 37th at the SBC meet and 86th at the regional. He placed 13th in the 10,000 meters at the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
