ARLINGTON, Texas - Former UT Arlington volleyball student-athletes and their families relived their glory years recently during the program's annual Alumni Reunion at College Park Center.
In one of the larger turnouts in recent years, former players enjoyed reconnecting to the UTA program and most played in the annual alumni match - much to the enjoyment of the current Mavericks team and coaching staff.
The group had a day full of stories, fun and (some revisionist) history and each signed the alumni wall in the volleyball locker room. They were recognized on the court during the Mavericks' home match against Arkansas State later that evening.
Later that night, many of the group assembled at popular local establishment, Grease Monkey, for more social time and to conclude the event's festivities.
The UTA volleyball team plays on the road this week in Georgia before returning to College Park Center for its final two home matches of the season - Oct. 28 vs. ULM and Oct. 29 vs. Louisiana. The team will conclude its regular season with 4-straight away matches then hosts the annual Sun Belt Conference Championships Nov. 18-20.
Tickets to the team's final regular-season home appearances as well as the Sun Belt Championships are available online at UTATickets.com or by visiting the UTA Box Office or calling a ticket sales representative at (817) 272-9595.
