Transferred to UT Arlington after playing two seasons at Midland Junior College for head coach David Coleman... as a sophomore, was a two-way player hitting .325 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI while going 5-1 with seven saves, a 4.02 ERA in 31 innings with 45 strikeouts... named first team All-Conference and was named an NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American.

A four-year varsity letterwinner at Greenwood High School for head coach Joe Williamson... as a senior, batted .500 with 13 doubles, 12 home runs and 51 RBI... named first team All-District, first team All-State (shortstop), Sandhills Tournament MVP and was tabbed Academic All-State.
