Prior to UTA: Came to UTA after playing his sophomore season at Weatherford College...played his freshman year at Texas Wesleyan... went 3-3 with a 5.57 ERA for the Rams...appeared in 12 games with five starts...struck out 38 in 42 innings...played his prep ball at North Crowley High School...earned first team all-district honors as a senior after going 6-3 with 102 strikeouts...named honorable mention all-district as a junior...member of the National Honor Society, National Honor Roll, Who's Who Among American High School Students and Science National Honor Society...also senior class president at NCHS... named a Red River Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete at TWU.
