Prior to UTA: Came to UTA after earning District 4-4A Most Valuable Player honors as a senior at Lubbock Estacado...earned 2007 First-Team, Class 4A All-State recognition by the Texas Sportswriters Association and the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association as a pitcher, leading the Matadors to the Class 4A Region I championship game.
