Fifth-year senior Pierce Loveless has seen a lot since coming to UTA prior to the 1999 season. Loveless has had three head coaches (Butch McBroom, Clay Gould, Jeff Curtis) and three pitching coaches (Ron Liggett, Jeff Curtis, Darin Thomas), and joins Aaron Pullin as the only current Maverick seniors to play their entire collegiate careers at UT-Arlington.

Entering 2003 season, Loveless has made 58 appearances in his career (eighth most in team history)?166 career strikeouts are seventh most on UTA?s all-time chart.

2002: 4-3, 5.24?led team with 89.1 innings and 66 strikeouts?made 22 appearances in 2002?made a team-high 14 starts?he fanned a career high 11 batters in a victory at ULM March 22, a game in which he tossed eight innings?Loveless earned the win over TCU March 1, allowing one earned run on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
