Prior to UTA: Came to UTA after hitting .321 with four home runs and 22 stolen bases as a freshman...set a school record by being hit by 21 pitches...earned first team all-district honors at Midland High School...helped lead team to the regional semifinals...garnered first team all-state laurels in helping lead his team to the 5A state championship ...was a second team all-district selection as a junior...named to the all-tournament teams at the First Bank Classic and Tournament of Champions as a junior and senior...member of the Texas North-South All-Star team...was also a first team all-district selection and team MVP on the gridiron as a senior...Texas scholar.
