ARLINGTON, Texas - Arkansas second baseman Scott Bridges hit a two-run home run to left center field in the top of the seventh inning gave the No. 25 Razobacks the lead for good in a 2-1 pitchers dual against Texas-Arlington in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday.

The home run came with two outs in the seventh inning and scored Blake Parker who walked just one hitter earlier.

Daryl Maday (1-0) made the lead hold up as the right-hander retired all 15 hitters he faced over five innings. He also struck out seven and walked none.

The Mavs (2-3) got on the board in the third inning as Brett Lewis walked and Aaron Batlle was hit by a pitch with one out. Ryan Nelson followed with a fielder's choice, but the bases became loaded as Razorbacks shortstop Scott Hode dropped the throw from second. With two outs, Justin Stevens singled off the glove of the pitcher to score Lewis from third.

Michael Gardner (0-1) was the tough-luck loser as he allowed two runs on three hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work. Grant Varnell came on in the eighth inning and allowed two hits with three strikeouts.

Lewis led the offense with two hits. Casey Rowlett led the Hoggs with a pair of hits.
