UT Arlington's bats showed up early against the Bears, plating a run in the first frame on a sacrifice fly from McCall. Baylor responded in the bottom of the second with a two-out double to bring home a runner who reached on an error.
The game stayed locked at 1-1 until the fifth when Miller brought home Cuomo with a double to left-center to break the tie. Baylor loaded up the bases with one out in the bottom of the sixth before a single up the middle plated two Bears to put the Mavericks down 3-2.
A wild pitch from Keegan Hucul, on in relief for Chad Nack, with the bases loaded led to another Baylor run. The Bears extended their lead to 5-2 with a sacrifice fly.
UT Arlington went down in order in the top of the eighth. The Mavericks stranded runners on second and third to end the game.
