COLLEGE STATION, Tex. - Kevin Gonzalez broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly and No. 11 Texas A&M topped UT Arlington, 1-0, Tuesday night at Olsen Field.

Six Aggies pitchers shut the Mavericks out on four hits.

The loss marked the 10th in a row for UT Arlington.

UTA starter Michael Oberto faced the minimum number of hitters over his predetermined short-start. The junior gave up two hits over 3.0 innings, but induced inning-ending double plays in the first and second. He also recorded a strikeout.

Adam Westbrook also threw 3.0 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out a couple. Kasey Merck also fired 1.1 perfect innings.

The Aggies (37-16) had just one runner in scoring position until Matt Juengel led off the seventh with a double that might have cleared the left-field fence were it not for Ryan Walker's jumping attempt.

Juengel eventually scored on Gonzalez's sacrifice fly.

Joaquin Hinojosa earned the win for the Aggies and Nick Fleece worked a scoreless ninth to record the save.

Brian Nephew had two hits and Walker and Jordan Vaughn each had hits for the Mavericks (25-28).

UT Arlington plays the final regular-season series of the season this weekend, starting with a Thursday night tilt with Texas State. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
