ARLINGTON, Texas -- UTA baseball's seventh annual First-Pitch Fundraiser will be held during collegiate baseball's opening weekend, slated for Feb. 17 at the Justin D. Wilson Hitting Facility inside the grounds of Clay Gould Ballpark.
UTA has kicked off its baseball season with the First-Pitch Fundraiser for seven consecutive years under Coach Darin Thomas, the defending Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year.
"We look forward to the first-pitch fundraiser each year," Thomas said. "A key element to our continued growth as a baseball program is the constant and unyielding support from our families, alumni and boosters. This event is a great chance for us to spend time with our supporters during an always fun opening weekend."
The Mavs will open their 2018 season with a home series with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, with the First-Pitch Fundraiser slated for Saturday, Feb. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wilson Hitting Facility. Food for the event is generously provided by Fuzzy's Taco Shop, the concession operators at Clay Gould Ballpark and Allen Saxe Field. The event will feature live and silent auction items, 2017 season award winners and introduction of the 2018 roster.
