ARLINGTON, Texas -- A year after claiming the Sun Belt Conference Western Division Title, UTA baseball has been picked to finish second in the division in 2018 by the league coaches, it was announced on Tuesday morning.
UTA, which went 20-10 in Sun Belt play last year, earned two first-place votes in the West and was picked to finish second behind Louisiana. Texas State also earned a first-place vote in the Western Division.
The Mavs open their 2018 season on Feb. 16 with a home-opening series vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. UTA returns all-conference standouts in 2018 including pitchers Daniel James and Trae Patterson, and sluggers Omar Salinas and Will Olson.
